EASTER PARTY GAMES
WORD ASSOCIATION

It can be played by any number of players. The idea is, the first player says a word related to Easter, and the next player says a word associated to it. I.e.Easter-Egg-Painted-Yellow-Chick etc.
The fun starts when the game speeds up, and words begin to run out. You hesitate, repeat a word, or you deviate well off track. Everyone calls ‘hesitation’,’ repetition’, or ‘deviation’ and decide on a suitable forfeit for you. With younger children, they are out, until the person next to them hesitates, then they are back in the game. Give it a try; it really is silly great fun!

EASTER PARTY GAMES
WHO AM I ?

For your list of Easter party games, this one is always the easiest to arrange.
Write the name of anything Easter, animal, object, place or anything relevant to the occasion, on to a pad of sticky notes. Example Bunny-Egg-Chick- and so on. Stick one note on to each player’s forehead, without them seeing it. The players must then find out who/what is on their note.
The only answers to be given are YES/NO.
Have a pad pre-written in the drawer, if the game was not needed this time, take the pad on holiday. Great whilst travelling as a tension breaker.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
CHINESE WHISPERS

As with other Easter party games, this one starts with all players either sitting in a circle, or a long straight line.An Easter word or sentence is whispered to the first person in line.
It is then their turn to whisper the same to the person beside them.
Continue this until the very last person has heard the whisper. They then say it out loud and compare it to the original whisper.
VARIATION
Make 3 teams.Team 1 told an Easter Film/Movie.Team 2 told an Easter or Springtime song.Team 3 told an object again related to the season. Then get each team to say the last word or sentence. The outcome can be quite funny.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
PASS THE PARCEL

The original Game ‘PASS THE PARCEL’ was to wrap up a little prize, in about 20 layers of paper.
Now party games have changed and a prize is under every layer of paper, with a bigger one in the middle.
Arrange the kids in a circle on the floor.Start playing music, and then hand the parcel to the first party player.Whilst the music is playing the parcel is passed around the circle without stopping.
Once the music stops, the player holding the parcel tries to rip off a layer of paper before the music starts again, and the parcel gets passed on.This is repeated until all the layers of wrap are gone.
VARIATION 1 is to place a forfeit under each layer, for example, a piece of folded paper telling the player to act out an Easter animal or make Bunny faces”.
VARIATION 2 Great around the Easter table, instead of crackers, far more fun. Must not forget the paper hat and joke. If the music stops on the same person they simply pass it on to the person next to them.
VARIATION 3 Great for an office Easter meal, gets things warmed up. You could use a piece of Easter Trivia under each layer. If you were a mean boss, under each layer could be work related questions.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
JIGSAW PUZZLE GAME

This is a very simple game, which can keep young children, entertained for ages?
A small amount of preparation is required.
Take a large picture from a book or magazine which is related to Easter and cut it into several pieces, the size of piece will depend on the age of child, who will be playing.
This one can be played either as a team or individual game.To play as a group game, cut up several pictures, but remember to remove one segment from each picture.
Each team will be presented with one piece of the puzzle. The remainder of the picture will be mixed with the other pictures, and placed facedown on the floor.
Player 1 from each team holding their one piece of the puzzle, must then run to the jigsaw pieces on the floor, they can turn over a maximum of three pieces of the jigsaw, to see if they have a match. If no match is found the jigsaw pieces must be again, placed face down on the floor.
The next team member will do the same; the game will obviously become easier, when there are less jigsaw pieces on the floor. As a suggestion, the younger members should be placed towards the back of a line.
The first team to complete their Easter jigsaw puzzle will be the winner. This is also a great opportunity to use any old Easter cards left over.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
CHARADES

If you have not used your Easter sticky notes from the Party Game “Easter Who Am I” then use them now. You will need to have pre written on individual pieces of cards, a title of an Easter or Springtime film, an Easter song or a quotation related to the Easter theme.
The player must read the card, without showing it to anyone, then act out what is on the card. No speaking, no touching objects and no mouthing the word.
The gestures you are usually allowed to use
For a book title, join your hands together as for prayer, then unfold them flat.
For a film title, place one hand over your eye in a shape of a lens, at the same time the other hand should be winding around in a circle, as if it is an old cine camera.
For a quotation, simply do a couple of quotation marks in the air.
For a TV show, draw a square box in the air.
Other gestures allowed shape your hands to spell “T” for “THE”, the number of words in a title can be displayed with the same number of fingers. Short word pinch your fingers together, long word stretch your hands out. Syllables touch your arm with the same number of fingers to syllables. Correct word touch your nose, and point to the person giving the correct answer. Or do a thumbs up sign.
Make up other gestures to suit your party.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
WADDLE WADDLE DUCK RACE

This is a really cute little Easter Party Race.
You need a start and finish line.
At the start line, each player bends down and grabs their ankles with both hands.
On the start whistle, the players are off, heading for the finish line, holding their ankles and waddling like little ducks. So cute.
Adults can also have a try, but definitely not for a back sufferer.

Variations to Waddle Waddle Duck Race.
Plenty variations to this little race depending on the abilities of the players.
Get the players along the race line, to stop and pick up items.
For example, a carrot, which may have to be put under their arm to continue the race?
A hard boiled egg, placed under the other arm, then maybe a balloon, between the knees and so on.

Another variation would be to make the race into an Easter egg hunt, where the course is not set, but the players have to waddle like a duck and search for the items.
Once collecting say 3 items then waddle to the finish line.
Simple game but great fun.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
EASTER MATCH IT RACE

Very similar to other match it games listed on my party games Web Site.
Collect Easter pictures, Back of Easter Egg Boxes, Magazines, News papers, Activity Books and select maybe 2 pictures each for the younger ones.
Cut the pictures in half, and lay them face down on the floor, if you want to make it a little easier for the very small, then let them see the pictures being put face down.
Now arrange the players into equal size teams.
One player from each team will then pick up one picture, show their team then try and match it with one other face down picture.
If they are not a match, both pictures are placed face down again on the floor, until remembered for a match.
In the beginning it will all be guess work, and then the memory will start to work.
For the younger players, keep it simple with matching duck to duck, egg to egg, chick to chick etc.
For the older player keep it to one design. Say only Easter egg pictures, where the match will be harder.
Better still, use one Easter egg photocopy design which the players can colour in first, but only allow say 3 different colouring pens.
Red, yellow and green, now once cut in half, and all the same 3 colours and the same design of Easter egg, matching has become a little more challenging.
Variation.
Cut all the Easter pictures into 4 pieces, one different piece is given to each team.
Now each team player in turn will run and collect one section, not looking until they return to their team.
The team can either keep it if it matches the piece they have or return it face down.
The next player will do the same, until the picture is complete.
Keeping the picture secret from the other team is important.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
BEACH VOLLEY EGG

This is more for the older crowd as it is extremely messy, uses raw eggs (yuck!), but great to record on camera.
Suggest that it is played on the Beach, so that the tied can wash the sand clean.
Organise the players into 2 teams, or more if doing a Knock-Out competition.
Decide on the team to start.
They will now have the first raw egg.
The object of the game is to get the egg over the net/line to break on your opponent’s side.
It cannot simply be smashed at them.
Player one serves by throwing the egg into the air, if it reaches the other team they can catch the egg and return it by throwing it in the air back.
If short the egg can be hand slapped to get it over the net/line.
However, if the egg breaks that side is down a point.
Do you see why the beach is a good location!

EASTER PARTY GAMES
BUNNY FUN

Fun little game for the younger players.
First allow each player to colour in and decorate their own Easter Bunny picture.
There are loads of these available here.
Then the little game to complete their picture is to glue a cotton ball on the Easter Bunny in the correct place.
But, they have to do this blindfolded.
Same as pin the tail on the donkey.
Place the correct picture for the player on a wall/door/board, once blindfolded, put a cotton ball in the players hand, place a small drop of washable Childs glue on the cotton ball, and guild the player to their picture to see where they stick the tail.
Maybe let them stick more than one cotton ball for a really funny picture.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
EASTER EGG BOWLS

The object of this game is bowls with eggs.
Using hard boiled eggs.
Place one hard boiled egg in the target area.
Each player then has to roll their egg towards the target.
The nearest egg wins.

Variations
Allow each person to number their egg or colour and design their egg for recognition purposes, makes the game last longer.
Compete in rounds or teams.
Keep the target egg raw, and use the hard boiled eggs to break the target.
Can be messy.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
RAW EGG ROULETTE

Do you really need a description for this one!
Older player’s adults only.
Can be played in teams each taking a turn.
Or one on one.
Have a large egg box of hard boiled eggs all numbered and one raw egg also with a consecutive number.
The first player can now simply choose a number of an egg, that egg is now smashed over that players head.
(May want to use a hat)
Until the looser gets raw egg on their head/hat.
Variations
Use the egg numbers as points, to see which team gets the most egg points.

EASTER PARTY GAMES
COTTON BALL RUN

Tricky little race, same as the egg and spoon race, but using a plastic spoon and a cotton ball.
This is a much slower race, as the cotton ball is light, but just as much fun and less messy.
For the little ones, have a picture of an Easter Bunny or Easter Chick already pasted with water based glue at the finish line.
Then when the player crosses the line, they have to stick the cotton ball onto the Easter picture, until the animal is covered with fluffy bits.
