AIR BALLOONS
AIR BALLOONS The main objective of this balloon game is to keep a balloon in the air, same as ‘MUSICAL BALLOONS’. But with a difference. Again form a circle with all players.
Player 1 has the balloon.
Player 1 must tap the balloon in the air within 3 seconds of the start call.
The start call consists of a theme for the game.For example I call ‘GO. FRUIT’.Player 1 must tap the balloon and shout ‘BANANAS’.
Player 2 then has to think of a fruit to shout when he taps the balloon.
Things get tricky when words start to fail.
You are out if you hesitate.
You are out if you repeat a word.
You are out if you let the balloon touch the floor.
Obviously smaller children love to shout out things they know, colours, animals, parts of the body.
Older kids, shout out ‘flags’, so when player 1 taps the balloon and says ‘Ireland’
The next 3 players have to get the colours right. Player 5 shouts ’France’ and so on.
Try it with the older crowd, and shout ‘South African Reds’, and see how many thinks that’s a good idea and head for their glass.
Every party needs balloons.
Put them everywhere, not just in the party room.
Make the front door come alive. Hang them from every door knob, curtain pole and coat hook.
Write the children’s names on them and use them as place markers around the party table.
Always make sure that there is a balloon in the party bag to go home, age permitting.
Do all the above, but remember, to use them throughout the party.
Here are loads to choose from, put balloons on that party list. Make sure to buy a huge bag, I would inflate them with a pump as it saves on fainting.
